beach pencil sketching
I needed to get some sun this weekend. Coming back from an entire week of spring break outside and in the Puerto Rico heat, I needed to reclaim the tan which really only lasted a couple days.
All of the work I have publicly completed (up until today) has been in the final stages of development. But in this case, my 30” x 40” canvas was nothing but a couple parallel lines and rough shapes before I arrived at the beach.
For this next painting, I will be referencing a photo I took in Puerto Rico. Only a feeling you can experience in person, I was able to witness the feeling of true passion for the arts. As I reflect on my inquiry question for AP art— Where do I find the most disconnect in my life?— I realize that I find a major disconnect in the community I surround myself with every day. As this art piece progresses throughout the month, I hope to see that disconnect represented to the best of my ability.
